Log Files
Each time your site is accessed, the web server logs information
regarding the hit to a file. Data stored includes the date and time, the
files downloaded, the referring site and information about the user's computer.
We analyse the log file for your site each day to produce your graphical
statistics.
In circumstances where our graphical
statistics do not fulfil your needs, you may enable the storage of
log files for your account. The web server will retain log files for the
past 14 days enabling you to download them for analysis using your own
software.
Downloading Stored Log Files
To utilise the log files stored for your account you must download them
from the log files page in your account control panel. The name of the
log file includes the username of the account and date the file is for.
The file can be downloaded as a plain text or zip file. Click the desired
download link and follow your browsers on screen prompts to download the
file to your local computer. You can then import this file into your preferred
log file analysis software by following the vendors documentation.
Notes On Log Files
Please note that log files are provided for download to and analysis on
your machine. You may not analyse your log files using scripts running
on our servers due to the load placed on the server and the detrimental
effect on web site performance caused by such scripts.
